Food
Many of you may be wondering what we ate while in Ecuador. Most of their food is very bland, because they do not use much seasoning if any at all. For breakfast every morning we would have a form of croissant along with either scrambled or hard boiled eggs. Lunch and dinner both consisted of rice, meat (normally chicken), soup, and a dessert. Each meal was served with a freshly made cup of juice, and on one occasion a tea called guayusa. When it comes to snacks, they have what we have here in the States, just in a different form. Their ice cream is delicious! Also, they have a food that is considered a delicacy; while we, on the other hand, consider it a pet. Any guesses on what it could be? To answer your question, yes I did eat it. Take a look!
For those of you who just saw the picture of the strange critter that I ate, if you haven't figured out what it is yet I will tell you. It is a guinea pig, and yes you read that right. It is edible though it is not something I would eat all the time. Guinea pig tastes like a greasy, gamey chicken.
